The ongoing uproar by some wings of individuals due to the "Due or no due saga" this issue is a boiling issue which needs to be attended to with immediate effect.
On 30th of December, 2018, the constitution of Federation of Oke Ila Students Union was hurriedly posted on the aforementioned association's whatsap group page in order to clear the air on the legality of the alleged annual due payment.
However, the constitution of the association succinctly states that every members shall be liable to pay their annual dues , the abstainance to pay such would attract the copra penalty of suspension from the association and the victim shall be disenfranchised.
Nevertheless, by implication, the part of this constitution that adumbrates the obligatory duty of every member to the association , state vividly the exception to such part of the section . this lucidly highlights that members who don't pay their due for two consecutive years shall not be eligible to vote and to be voted for. By implications, in the cause of implementing this part of the constitution, the right of the new members of the association was consciously infringed upon. Some people were just admitted this year ,which means they are one year old in the association and by the interpretation of that section, they are eligible to vote because if they would be owning , they will only be owning for this year annual due,therefore, they are eligible to vote as clearly stated in the constitution. Hence, the right of new members has been carefully breached because they have this year annual due only to be paid.
Inaddition , I was newsed that the election has been sifted to 2rd of January, 2019. I appeal that the necessary amendment should be done in order not to deny the right of the new members further.
Moreover, there is this hot air virally spreading like wild fire concerning my personality which is in question.
I need to attend to this issue with an impelling alacrity because a lot of people has been playing on my integrity. I need to narrate this saga of my activism on 30th of January, 2018 during the Fosu election.
Some people has been summoning me and some have confronted me,expressing their disappointment in me because I was asking question from the gang of Fosu executive leaders which was termed by some as being "shouting".
The election and manifesto which was scheduled to kick off by 12 and 2 , but I was busy to go to the manifesto, consequently, I told those who has been coming to me for my vote, I told them all that " without knowing your plans/agenda, I can't got for you, even if it is my sibling that is campaigning and have no fervid plans for Oke Ila orangun Fosu ,I won't vote for him/her" That is, since I was late to the polling unit(I got there around 5pm) and told people coming to me for my vote, I told them i wasn't there to vote because I didn't know what they have in pot for us. I want good leaders with futuristic vision. And that is my stand.
When I got there yesterday, I asked " what do the constitution says; does it say without due there is no vote?" I asked . and one of them says it was convention that says that ,which I further queried " when was the Congress that sat to make such law was called" and one of them rejoined me that It was our duty to be conversant with activities of the association and not anybody . I inquisitively asked further " where do you want us to get such information because if not a day to the election I was not informed that any due would be paid ,that is some of us our ears are deaf to the activities of the association" I added " what is the work of the P

These are the questions I asked which they tagged as being "shouting" I proceeded by making a claim " we are in the Democratic society, everybody must be carried along and not that one section of the executive would be imposing their wills on the majority. is not done! majority must have the say in democratic society" these are my points yesterday which they
